Hormonal fluctuations associated with the natural cessation of ovarian estrogen production can significantly affect different areas in our central nervous system – and this even occurs amidst familiar environments or stressors. This delicate balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic systems must be monitored closely if we're hoping for an easier transition into midlife.

This midlife transition can bring a host of body changes, ranging from physiological changes in cortisol levels and blood pressure to an increased heart rate. Understanding the nervous system during this time is key in identifying ways we can better manage our health through perimenopause & menopause.
